Where to See My Work in 2026

There is something different about standing in front of an original painting.

Online, I can share the image and the story behind a piece, but in person you begin to notice other things. The scale of the work. The surface of the paint. Subtle changes in colour and the marks that remain from the process of creating it.

Perhaps most importantly, you can simply spend a little time with the painting and discover what you notice for yourself.

Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society Summer Exhibition

Portsmouth Cathedral, Old Portsmouth
22–30 August 2026

The works come from two collections, Quiet Presence and From the Shadows, bringing together different ways I explore nature, atmosphere and our emotional connection with the world around us.

Some are quieter landscapes, where the details reveal themselves gradually. Others are shaped by more powerful moments in nature, where light, weather and movement alter the atmosphere completely.

Seeing these six paintings together offers an opportunity to experience those contrasts in person.

Colour and atmosphere are important within my work, but so are the physical qualities of the paintings themselves. Brushwork, texture and subtle shifts across the surface become more apparent when standing in front of an original.

I hope visitors will take a little time with them and notice what draws their attention.

The Paintings at Portsmouth Cathedral

The six original paintings selected for Portsmouth Cathedral come from Quiet Presence and From the Shadows. Although the two collections explore different aspects of my work, both are rooted in observation and the way nature can alter how we feel. Together, they move between stillness and drama, shelter and exposure, light and shadow.

Quiet Presence

Quiet Presence explores landscapes and moments in nature that invite us to become still enough to notice what is quietly there.

From the Shadows

From the Shadows explores the relationship between darkness and light, and the way one can sometimes make us more aware of the other.
