Where the Tide Breathes Art Placemat

Created from my original painting Where the Tide Breathes, this placemat brings together the changing colours of the coastline, from the darker clouds gathering overhead to the softer blues of the sea and the earthy colours of the land.

I've always been interested in the way a coastline changes with the weather and the tide. The grasses bend in the wind, the light moves across the water, and the shoreline looks different depending on when you visit. There is always something happening, even when the landscape initially appears quite still.

For this placemat, I've arranged sections of the painting across the surface, keeping the contrast between the dramatic sky, the water and the coastal grasses. I particularly like how the warmer colours along the shoreline sit against the cooler blues and greys above.
