About the Original Painting

Veil of Sand is an imagined landscape of shifting dunes, distant violet mountains and an open horizon.

As I painted the dunes, I allowed them to overlap and partly conceal what lies beyond them. We can see towards the distant mountains, but we cannot see the entire landscape we would have to cross to reach them.

I wanted to keep that sense of distance and uncertainty within the painting, allowing our eyes to follow the sand towards the mountains while leaving some of what lies ahead unseen.

Created from my original Veil of Sand painting, this unframed Fine Art Print is giclée printed on 200gsm fine-art paper and produced through Prodigi.
