The Still Tide – Mist Art Placemat

Created from my original painting The Still Tide, this placemat features a seascape where the mist softens the horizon and the pale colours of the sky meet the deeper blues of the water.

I've always enjoyed watching how the sea changes with the weather and light. Sometimes the horizon is so clear that you can distinguish exactly where the water ends and the sky begins, while at other times the mist makes that boundary much harder to see. In this painting, I wanted to capture that softer atmosphere without losing the movement of the sea beneath it.

For this placemat design, I've used the lighter colours of the painting above the darker water, keeping the small touches of white that move across the surface. I particularly like the contrast between the pale, almost silvery sky and the deeper blues below.
