Quietly Sheltered Art Cushion | Jennifer F

Quietly Sheltered Art Cushion

Created from my original painting Quietly Sheltered, this cushion takes its colours and design from a landscape where a lake sits between the surrounding land, with grasses, distant trees and a wide sky completing the scene.

What I particularly like about this painting is the balance between the openness of the landscape and the feeling of being sheltered within it. There is plenty of space to look across the water, yet the land and trees give the scene a more enclosed, familiar quality.

For the cushion, I've used the deeper colours of the landscape alongside a blue-grey background, allowing the artwork to form a band across the lower part of the design. The contrast brings out the darker details of the painting while keeping the overall colours restrained.

Part of my Quiet Presence – Homeware collection, this cushion offers another way to enjoy Quietly Sheltered beyond the original painting.
