Midnight Blue Art Cushion | Jennifer F

Midnight Blue Art Cushion

Created from my original painting Midnight Blue, this cushion features a peacock emerging from a dark background, with the light catching the rich blues and greens of his feathers and the details around his face.

It was his gaze that particularly interested me when I painted him. There is something very watchful about his expression, and I find myself drawn to his eye before gradually noticing the different colours and textures in his plumage.

For the cushion design, I've kept the painting framed against a dark background, with a fine blue border that picks up the colours of the bird. I like how the deeper shades allow the brighter details to stand out without competing with the image itself.

Part of my From the Shadows – Homeware collection, this cushion offers another way to enjoy Midnight Blue beyond the original painting.
