Beneath the Light Art Coasters – Set of 2

Created from my original painting Beneath the Light, these coasters feature a coastal scene where a changing sky stretches above dark water, with lighter blues catching the movement of the waves near the shore.

One of the things I enjoy about painting the sea is the way light can change the appearance of a landscape. In this painting, the clouds carry softer greys, blues and touches of warmth, while the water below is much darker. The contrast draws my attention towards the lighter areas of the sea, where the movement of the water becomes easier to see.

For the coaster design, I've kept these different areas of the painting together, from the shifting colours of the sky to the deeper water and the small details along the shoreline. The dark band through the centre separates the two parts of the image while allowing the colours to work together.

Part of my From the Shadows – Homeware Collection, these coasters offer another way to enjoy the artwork beyond the original painting.
