At the Water’s Edge Art Cushion

Created from my original painting At the Water’s Edge, this cushion brings together the darker colours of a dramatic coastal landscape, where the movement of the sea meets the rugged shoreline beneath a heavy sky.

For the cushion design, I've used sections of the painting to create layers of dark greys, muted blues and earthy coastal tones. The contrast between the different areas of the artwork gives the design depth, while retaining the atmosphere of the original painting.

I particularly like the way the lighter areas of the water stand out against the surrounding darkness. It is a small part of the landscape, but one that continually draws my attention back to the painting.
