About the Original Painting

Where the Sky Breaks began with a photograph of a tornado that I came across online. Although the tornado immediately caught my attention, I soon found myself looking at everything happening around it.

There were deep greys and cooler colours within the storm, warmer tones across the land and an area of rainfall that seemed almost luminous against the darker sky. The grasses below added another layer of movement as the weather passed through them.

I wanted to keep those contrasts within the painting, allowing the darkness and light, warmth and coolness, and quieter areas of the landscape to exist alongside the force of the storm.

Created from my original Where the Sky Breaks painting, this unframed Fine Art Print is giclée printed on 200gsm fine-art paper and produced through Prodigi.
