The Story Behind the Artwork

Some subjects don’t need to demand attention.

They simply hold it.

The Black began as an exploration of atmosphere rather than detail. By allowing the horse to emerge gradually from darkness, I wanted to capture more than its appearance. I wanted to explore its presence.

There is a quiet confidence in horses that has always fascinated me. They possess incredible strength without needing to prove it, communicating through subtle movement, trust and observation.

This painting became a reflection of those qualities.
